Kentec Training Reviews
Here at Kentec Training, we are constantly looking for new ways to reach our customers and improve our services. We are currently in the process of building a new page for our website listing of some of our reviews written by our customers who have previously attended courses at our training centre. We encourage all customers to review our performance and have started logging details to ensure that we are learning and improving all the time.
I have found some of my favourite reviews from the past few months that I would like to share with you:
'James Carter was really well organised and very easy to talk to and understand.' Alan Stanley - IPAF 02/06/2011

Kentec Training's new trailer for onsite Courses
We are now able to offer full PASMA Tower for Users on site training utilising both 3T (Through The Trap) and AGR (Advanced Guard Rail) assembly methods.
This is in response to continuing difficulty and requests from our clients who require this course to be held at their sites or offices, in providing a suitable tower that is not only in an acceptable condition but also has the full complement of componants, including the Advanced Guard Rails.
Within the Trailer Unit we have a full 4.2m Platform Single Width Alloy Tower (to BS EN 1004) with sufficent componants to instructor both 3T and AGR approved assembly methods. We provide this aditional equipment at no additional charge but must insist on secure parking at the site near to the training room.
The requirement for the AGR assembly method to be fully incorporated within ALL PASMA Tower Training Course has been a requirement for some time now, however, some PASMA training providers have not when training on sites due to the difficulty in obtaining the correct equipment. To ensure that you receive the full PASMA Tower for Users Course call us on 0333-666-0555 or email: info@kentectraining.co.uk

Kentec Training's all weather practical area
Make sure when booking your courses this coming winter that you have a suitable practical area to build your tower or operate a MEWP. In many cases, especially when we have been asked to do an onsite course during the autumn and winter months we have been unable to complete the practical assessment stage as there is not a sufficient space to build or operate equipment safely. Additionally, many training centres still do their practical assessments in a designated area outside. This opens up the chance of the course being affected by the Great British Elements! Rain, high wind or snow can cause the practical area to be shut down, having to return to the centre another day to complete the course, costing both your resources and time.
At Kentec Training, we have an all weather practical area, with climate control and separate refreshment facilities and recreation room with a 42" flat screen TV to keep our delegates occupied when waiting for their team to participate in the practical exercises. For more information, or to book on one of our courses visit www.kentectraining.co.uk or e-mail info@kentectraining.co.uk. Alternatively, call 0333 666 0555 and a training consultant will be happy to assist you.

1. Introducing Managing Safely: Some managers may see health and safety as an add-on to their role – even an intrusion. The first module makes it clear that managers are accountable for their teams, and makes a persuasive case for managing safely.
2. Assessing Risks: This module defines and demystifies ‘risk’ and ‘risk assessment’. Risk assessments and a simple scoring system are introduced, and delegates carry out Publish Posta series of assessments.
3. Controlling Risks: Here the session tackles cutting risks down, concentrating on the best techniques to control key risks, and how to choose the right method.

5. Identifying Hazards: All the main issues any operation has to deal with are covered in this module – entrances and exits, work traffic, fire, chemicals, electricity, physical and verbal abuse, bullying, stress, noise, housekeeping and the working environment, slips, trips and falls, working at height, computers and manual handling.
6. Investigating Accidents and Incidents: The session starts with why accidents should be investigated, and goes on to cover why things go wrong, and how to carry out an investigation when they do.
7. Measuring Performance: This module explains how checking performance can help to improve health and safety. Delegates learn how to develop basic performance indicators, and get to grips with auditing and proactive and reactive measuring.

PASMA Retraining
If you received a PASMA, IPAF or Ladder Association Certification in 2006 or before and are still working at height, you need to attend another course to become re-certified for another 5 years. We encourage this especially as courses such as the PASMA Standard Tower for Users Course has introduced new measures and practical training elements that were not included within the course syllabus previously. The 3T and AGR systems are currently the only tower assembly systems approved by PASMA and the HSE. With the introduction of the new design of AGR and its ease of use, we believe that this system will become the preferred method in months to come. With this in mind, it is vital that operatives have sound training in the application of both the approved methods.
Kentec training is now offering our customers a £10.00 discount opportunity to retrain with us on your necessary course. If you have individuals or a small number of delegates that require training, this is a great way of saving money. We understand that the economic climate is making things hard for small businesses and organisations, so to make your training as cost effective as possible, we are also offering discount to any additional delegates that may not have trained with us previously when booking a retraining course at our Training Centre in Tonbridge, Kent. For more information, please call 0333 666 0555.
Please note: These vouchers are not valid with our group discounts or any other offer from Kentec Training Ltd.
